Ministry of Agriculture, UNIDO, and Agricultural Engineers Syndicate on a Field Visit to the Arab Development Society to Review Activities and Interventions in Establishing the Center of Excellence and Training"
As part of the Ministry of Agriculture's efforts to develop the agricultural sector through the establishment of a training and excellence center in partnership with the Arab Development Society and the Agricultural Engineers Syndicate, a delegation from the Ministry, represented by Engineer Mahmoud Fatafta, Director General of International Relations, Engineer Ashraf Barakat, Director General of Agriculture in Jericho and the Jordan Valley, along with representatives from the United Nations Industrial Development Organization (UNIDO), Mr. Marine Minzo and Mr. Mohamed Khaled, conducted a field visit to the Arab Development Society to explore the available infrastructure and resources for use in training and agricultural development as part of joint efforts to establish the training and excellence center.
The visit aimed to explore ways to benefit from the project’s capabilities in vocational training for graduates of agricultural education, veterinary medicine, food processing, and agricultural production chains. In addition, the delegation reviewed water treatment technologies, including the use of the Electro Magnetic System for desalination and the Laguna Innovation System for treating wastewater resulting from cow washing and dairy plant waste, which allows the production of water suitable for agriculture and biogas.
During the meeting, Engineer Mahmoud Fatafta provided an overview of the Center of Excellence and Innovation project, outlining its strategic goals, planned implementation stages, and existing partnerships with local and international entities to support it. He also explained the expected outcomes of the center, including improving the efficiency of agricultural staff, promoting research and innovation, and providing an advanced training environment that keeps pace with modern developments in the agricultural sector.
For his part, the Head of the Agricultural Engineers Syndicate, Engineer Samer Farah, discussed the fruitful and collaborative efforts between project partners to enhance educational and training outputs, which lead to the development of the agricultural sector and improve the competencies of graduates to serve the Palestinian job market.
The delegation was received by Mr. Jamal Adila, Vice President of the committee managing the project, and the General Director of the project, along with the specialized teams. A detailed presentation was given on the project’s activities and the potential for future collaboration, aimed at promoting sustainable agricultural development and strengthening partnerships between the public and private sectors.
